Is It Safe?
Yes! A study* done in the USA looked at over 15,000 patients who underwent Tumescent Liposculpture under local anaesthesia. Complications that did occur were "infrequent" (less than 1%) and "minor" ( for example - bruising and swelling). There were NO serious complications. That is, NO deaths, NO embolism, NO shock, NO internal injury and NO thrombosis.
The conclusion? "Tumescent Liposculpture is an exceptionally safe method of liposuction under local anaesthesia that eliminates the necessity of general anaesthesia and blood transfusions. Tumescent Liposculpture is safer than liposuction under anaesthesia and results in fewer complications." These results are not applicable when performed under general anaesthesia. * C.W. Hanke et al.
