Body Contour - About us

Abdomen

For many women the childbearing years leave with them a "pot" which seems to increase steadily each year. This is the so-called "mummy tummy". Liposculpture is an effective treatment for this and other areas of localised fat.

These patients show common variations in fat distributions.  That is, their tummies are quite different shapes!

Liposculpture is often the treatment of choice for reduction of the abdominal area, although occasionally a tummy tuck, which includes repair of the abdominal muscles, may be required.
The procedure is generally very satisfying for both doctor and patient, with often large amounts of fat being removed particularly from the lower abdomen.  This gives a pleasing reduction of the tummy, making clothes easier to fit.
This area is often very effectively combined with liposculpture of the hips, waist and back.
Loose skin post surgery is less common than  thought, but may be excised later if necessary.
It is important that if hernias are present that these are repaired prior to liposculpture.

Before & After

Men are often more challenging because their fat is much more fibrous than women's.  However, excellent results can still be achieved.  The after picture was taken less than a week after surgery, so swelling is still present and further improvement expected.
