The results of liposculpture here are very satisfying for both surgeon and patient.
The outer bulge is caused by a fatty collection on the
thigh, but may be contributed to by a heavy lower buttock. In this
situation, fat needs to be taken from both areas for the best result. Strengthening the buttock muscles through excercise will also help.
Associated with the "saddlebag" may be the "banana roll" - a
horizontal thickening just below the buttock crease. This is notoriously tough fat and is often dimpled in appearance. Sculpting this area can be difficult, but is more successful than traditional liposuction. The risk of buttock ptosis or droop which was a common problem of traditional methods, is almost never seen with tumescent liposculpture using the fine instruments.
Inner thigh fat is generally soft and flows easily during surgery. Because the tissue is softer, it has a slightly higher risk of developing irregularities. Many patients request liposculpture in the inner thigh because of the problems of rubbing and chafing, particularly in the warmer months. They are hopeful that surgery will eliminate these problems. However, depending on the anatomy or build of the person, this may or may not be achievable. It will be reduced but not necessarily eliminated in these circumstances.
Outer thighs are often combined with hips, buttocks or inner thighs.
Inner thighs combine well with knees.
